Diversity and Inclusion at Bayer

At Bayer, we are committed to creating an environment with equal opportunities and inclusion for everyone. That‘s foundational to our mission Health for all, Hunger for none, governs how we operate as a company and makes us stronger and more innovative.

Our diversity and inclusion aspirations are supported by four key pillars:

Our Employees

We employ people from around 145 nations, demonstrating the value of diverse thinking in bringing best in class solutions for the benefit of all. Creating an inclusive environment where everyone can show up as their best self is core to creating a great place to work. We continuously strive to attract high-performing, diverse talent and provide everyone who works at Bayer with the best possible working environment to realize their full potential to make big impacts on our mission: Health for all, Hunger for none.

Importance of our Business Resource Groups

Business Resource Groups (BRGs) are voluntary, company-sponsored groups of employees who work together to promote cultural awareness. They are a vital part of our Diversity and Inclusion efforts and provide a multidimensional lens that helps us better engage with our customers and the communities we serve. BRGs are open to all employees and participation is encouraged regardless of background.

Five of Bayer’s ten company recognized BRGs have a global footprint with chapters in several continents:

  • BayAfro: Resource group for people of Black/African descent and allies
  • BLEND: Resource group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) people and supporters
  • ENABLE: Resource group for people with diverse abilities and allies
  • Grow: Resource group for women and allies
  • MERGE: Multigenerational Employee Resource Group Exchange

Each global BRG is sponsored by a member of the Board of Management and an Executive Sponsor from the business. Their role is to provide mentorship and hear diverse perspectives to help shape how we engage with customers, community, and our culture. Additionally, all ten of Bayer’s BRGs have local sponsors at the country and/or site level to support their efforts.

Our Commitment to Responsible Procurement

Our focus on responsible procurement allows us to tap into suppliers that have the potential to reduce supply chain risk and be more responsive, innovative and in tune with changing preferences. The program actively fosters economic growth in local communities by sourcing from small and diverse-owned businesses. By intentionally engaging with diverse suppliers, Bayer not only strengthens its supply chain but also contributes to sustainable and inclusive economic development. Our supplier programs are implemented in compliance with all applicable local laws and regulations. Learn more about Bayer’s Responsible Procurement Program.
